It is with great sadness and so much love that we announce the passing of Elizabeth (Betty) Hayward (nee Gough) on August 13th, 2022. In her 91st year Elizabeth was known as Betty by her family and friends. She was the beloved wife of the late Harold Hayward, wonderful mother of Susan Hayward-Bishop and loving grandmother to Nicole “little one” Bishop and Michael Bishop and a cherished Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Betty was born in Toronto on June 27th, 1932 to parents Lillian and Noel Gough. Betty was the beloved oldest sister to the late Dorothy Reeves and the late Tom Gough, Maureen Grant and Karen Gough.
Betty was one of the kindest and most caring people you could meet with a huge heart and an incredible sense of humour. Betty was a loyal employee of Bell Canada until her retirement. She loved to play golf, travel with her family, go to the casino, go to the movies and out for breakfast. She personified strength and perseverance throughout her life and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Our family is very thankful to Campbell House in Collingwood for their amazing and loving care as well as St. Joseph’s Hospital in London and the staff at Owen Sound Hospital. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to Campbell House Hospice. At Betty’s request a private family interment will take place. Arrangements entrusted to Chatterson Funeral Home, 404 Hurontario Street, Collingwood. To sign Betty's Book of Memories, please visit www.chattersonfuneralhome.com
